I would like to recognize Dr. Daniel F. Pauly, MD, PhD as he is Virginia's 2025 representative to the planning committee for the Mid-Atlantic Capital Cardiovascular Symposium! The Symposium will be held November 15-16 at Heart House in Washington, DC. This meeting unites the American College of Cardiology chapters from Pennsylvania, Delaware, District of Columbia, Virginia, and Maryland for a board-ranging program of clinicians, researchers, providers, and fellows-in-training.
A shout out to my wonderful team! Thanks Brittany Chaffin, Heather Weston, and McKenzie Ryder for this successful collaboration with Carilion Pediatrics for the new pediatric site in Rocky Mt. The space is creative, beautiful and fun!
I was cleaning off my cart after giving medications to a patient and mistakenly throw my hearing aids in the trash. This trash was place in the solid utility room. and was about to be taken off the unit. Alerto and Rebekah took the time and help me find them them which we did. I cannot express how much these two people helping me find them meant. Most people understand how expensive they are and what a relief it was to find them. I am so blessed to part of this team. thank you again to Alberto and Rebekah .

We’d like to give a huge shoutout to Dr Cesar Bravo, one of our outstanding Orthopedic Surgeons, for embracing innovation and collaboration!
Dr. Bravo recently partnered with our Simulation and Innovations teams to develop custom 3D models to assist in pre surgical planning for complex orthopedic cases. This forward thinking approach not only enhances surgical precision but also supports improved outcomes for our patients.
A huge shout out to Lonnie Phillips and team for working tirelessly to help update the Perfect Serve platform for the CST opening! The Clinical Admin department in particular was especially appreciative of all their work in expediting our needs for the new work flow. The last week would not of been a success without all your support!
Shout out to Scott Bedel, Security at CRBH, Dr. Jeffrey Todd, JoAnn Hall LPN, Jada Carter, RN and the Cardiology Lexington staff who assisted a wheelchair patient off of the 3rd floor, when the power was out and there was no elevator service! The team worked together to safely get the patient to the ground floor!
Huge shoutout to our staff who volunteered this week with the USA Cycling Endurance MTB National Championship! Organized by Dr.
The ED and Inpatient Acute Care Units at Franklin Memorial have been working very hard on improving patient throughput through their units. For the month of June, we successfully exceeded our goal of patient movement from the ED to their inpatient bed on the Acute Care unit within less than 30mins for the first time ever, with an average of 28 minutes! Recognizing that this is all due to the strong work by the front line staff making patient throughput a priority, we celebrated this milestone with an Ice Cream Bar for the staff.
Our Annual Summer BBQ for all employees at Riverside 1 & 3 was a blast this year! We had a delicious lunch catered by Carilion. There were photos, music and lots of laughter! This event is held each year to kick off 4th of July week! Everyone enjoys this lunch and it is a time of appreciation and thanks for the dedication and hard work that everyone does each and every day!
