Starting Tuesday, July 1st, 2025, and lasting for 1 year, the ICU Strong campaign will kick off at CRMH. This campaign was born out of the simple desire to improve care for our critically ill patients, and foster positive communication amongst Carilion employees, no matter their position. It has transformed into a movement that hopes to foster positive changes at CRMH!
When working in the OB/GYN office there is always a need for an US, rather it be that day or within the next 24-48 hours. I cannot stress enough the THANKS I have to give to the girls at CNRV Radiology!!! They are always helpful nice and friendly getting my patients in when they need it the most! Every time I call, they will work them in usually that day or the next day! Jessie Albert, Tech, is especially the best! Always looking out for the Salem OB/GYN office and the patients!!!

huge shoutout to CRMH blood bank for preparing more than 8 rounds of MTP over the course of a few hours! blood bank stayed on top of prepping the coolers with all products needed in a timely manner and prepped over 100 units of blood products in a short amount of time. way to go blood bank, you guys are awesome at what you do!
Earlier this month, we welcomed and onboarded 100 high school and college summer interns! The interns are placed in both clinical and non-clinical areas within Carilion Clinic! We cannot thank our leaders enough who have taken an intern for their collaboration and commitment.

Members of the Carilion Clinic Emergency Department, led by Emergency Medicine Resident Dr. Davin Combs, are working in close partnership with local law enforcement and emergency medical services (EMS) to enhance the region’s readiness to respond to mass casualty incidents. The collaboration focuses on the implementation of the nationally recognized Rescue Task Force (RTF) model—an interdepartmental, specially trained team that delivers immediate medical care during active threat situations.
We had a patient in the sleep lab who was dropped off for a sleep study but no arrangements had been made for the patient to get back to the facility. We reached out to CPTS and Michelle Isaacs went above and beyond to help us arrange transportation back to the facility for the patient and the caregiver who accompanied him. She was positive and friendly and even though the patient wasn't in her care, she wanted to make sure the patient had a positive experience.
5 West Celebrates Belated Best Friends Day
On June 10, 2025, 5 West celebrated a belated Best Friends Day (officially recognized on June 8). The event was a heartwarming tribute to camaraderie and teamwork among staff.
