I wanted to highlight the amazing work the crews did to keep our scanner going today by patching and preparing the 12 hour fix on a saturday to avoid having to cancel patients in need of imaging!  They were very helpful, communicated, and work with us to keep our full schedules.

Thank You to Patrick Randolph Director Department Operations Peds Quality and Patient Safety and John Tinaglia Guest Services Representative for your assistance during the recent weather event. Patrick and John assisted patients and staff at Tanglewood Children's by running a shuttle service. Their assistance with providing shuttle service allowed patients and staff to access the building safely and help them maneuver the icy parking lot. Thank You for your excellent service in assisting the patients and staff. 

Congratulations to the team at Carilion Family Medicine – Southeast, recipients of the ambulatory/outpatient Hive Award! The Hive Award is the Ambulatory Recognition Council's new recognition celebrating collaboration, compassion, and teamwork that lead to exceptional patient care and outcomes.

I want to recognize Nicholas Kline and Phazon Nash for being instrumental in helping roll out a staff appreciation program for the RMH ED. They have helped develop a Pass It On program where a special badge pin is worn by an individual in the ED for going above and beyond for their patients, their colleagues or for the department. After a week of having the badge pin, the individual passes it on to another member of the ED team and fills out a short form about why they are recognizing the next individual. These responses are collected and sent to supervisors and the department as a whole.

Thank you for how you just stepped in and volunteered to assist me with a challenging transport the other night.  The patient was morbidly obese, with a trach and I could barely move the gurney.  I didn't have to ask for help.  Sarah overheard a conversation between me & another nurse and she popped right in with a "I'll help you".  I really appreciate you and I owe you some M&M's.  :)

I would like to give a quick shout out to Travis Talley (RN) for teaching me how to do orders on the teletracker application/platform.  While working together on H pod, he discovered that I had never performed the function of ordering an item via teletracking.  I shared with Travis how much I thrive when learning, and he took the time to walk me through it; thus, allowing for me to add another task under my belt.  Kudos to you, TT.

A huge thank you to Scott Santolla (Materials MGMT Site Lead) for coming over with the forklift and helping us unload this morning. That kind of cross-team support is exactly what makes this place run so well! 

I would like to recognize Ross Beckner, Brian West, and Meredith Lewis from the 9CST ICU for their exceptional teamwork and rapid response during a critical emergency.

I had a patient who suddenly had an emergency. I was in the annex next to the ICU and called out for help. Ross and Brian were the first on scene and immediately assisted me in stabilizing the patient, including helping move them safely from the floor to the bed. Meredith was instrumental in coordinating support, running to gather the necessary people and supplies without hesitation.

The teams at CNRV's Neurology and Endocrinology clinic responded quickly and efficiently in an unexpected patient emergency while there for a routine appointment. The courage, kindness, compassion, and teamwork were exemplary! They did not hesitate to all jump into action and provided care to the patient in such a collaborative, compassionate way that ensured both patient and team safety.
