This week is Cardiovascular Professional Week. We celebrated our CVTs who work in the Cath Lab and EP Lab. To celebrate them, we took them on a tour of the new Crystal Springs Towers. They got to tour the new Cath Lab and EP Lab department, which will be their new home in the spring of 2025. Please help me give them a warm thank you for all the work they do for our patients daily!
I'd like to give a shout-out to Judy Serdah at Crystal Spring Pharmacy. She truly embodies our Carilion values! I was having difficulty with a provider sending my prescriptions to the correct pharmacy. Being worried I would experience a lapse in medication, I expressed my concerns with Judy at Crystal Spring and she Collaborated with my provider's office. Her Courage led them to the right path. I was able to receive my medications without a lapse. To top it off, her Curiosity alerted me to a prescription savings cards, saving me money! Judy is Compassionate about her work!
Sharon Langhorne's car broke down and she used an Uber to get to and from work!!!!! How many of us would do that?
CFMH is excited to join the system in Pop Tab Recycling for the Ronald McDonald House Charities! We received our "house" today and cannot wait to get started! This is such an easy way to support a charity that makes a big difference in the live of our patients and families.
Karen was amazing. She absolutely loves her job and you can tell by the joy she shares with her patients. My grandparents called her a “little spitfire” and looked forward to each time her shining face stopped by. Karen is the epitome of a caring and loving tech and we enjoyed each shift she worked.

A patient's family was needing assistance with a discount voucher for hotel accommodations after Guest Services had already closed for the day. I had tried several other departments to find someone to help me help the family, with no success. I messaged Loresa on perfect serve and she connected me with someone that could help me. Even though she didn't know the answer she helped me find it and connect this patient's family with the help they needed.
Thank you sonny for making sure we get our supplies when Tecys system was down. Sonny came to our unit wrote down all the tag #'s to make sure we got our supplies. We appreciate you. Thank you for your dedication.
Alexis Craig was nominated for a Great Catch by her Director, Stephanie Hodges when she identified an abnormal heart rhythm in her patient that others had not noticed. Alexis spoke up to share her concerns and assured that the patient received appropriate care. Thank you, Alexis!
