Submitted by aabriggs on

CNRV MCU celebrated 1 year CLABSI Free, 1 year CAUTI Free and 2 years MRSA Lab ID Free!

MCU had one CLABSI in 2023 and was able to eliminate there HAI risks with increase in attention to CHG treatments through implementation of the bath book! This initiative was an amazing success and you all should be proud of reducing CLABSI risks for your patients. CY 2022 MCU had 2 CAUTIs CY 2023 MCU had 2 CAUTIs, so to finish 2024 with zero is an incredible accomplishment!!

Please join us in congratulating MCU on this amazing achievement!

Helpful Guidance Through a Stressful Situation

Submitted by omurry on

Janet Young, MD, Tina Sikkenga RN, and Mary Anne Sibold RN jumped into action when a patient (that was not their own) started to go downhill. They knew exactly what to do, without laying eyes on the patient before, and handled the situation with grace and expertise. The ED is lucky to have employees like these who are knowledgeable, helpful, and supportive, both physically and emotionally, during stressful situations.

CFMH volunteers exceeding expectations

We are incredibly grateful for the dedication and commitment shown by Marvin Brubaker and Dale Austin, two of our amazing CFMH volunteers. Despite the treacherous conditions of the recent ice storm, they not only made it to the hospital but arrived early at 6:30 AM to ensure everything was taken care of. Their selflessness and determination are truly inspiring.

Thank you, Marvin and Dale, for going above and beyond to support our team and patients. Your efforts do not go unnoticed, and we are so fortunate to have you as part of our volunteer family.

CRBH would like to recognize Melissa Campbell, RN for her recent Great Catch.  After assuming care of a patient on 01/13/2025, Melissa discovered, after a thorough chart review, that the patient had a history of MDRO/ESBL, yet the patient was not in isolation per policy/best practice.  Melissa contacted infection control for confirmation and then placed the patient in appropriate isolation.  Melissa, thank you for your commitment to our patients, and thank you for always putting the safety of our patients first.  Great Catch!  We are happy to have you as a member of
