Nurses go to Lobby Day in Richmond!

Carilion nurses partnered with the Virginia Nurses Association (VNA) for Lobby Day in Richmond, meeting with Southwest Virginia legislators to advocate for key issues impacting the nursing profession and workforce.

Our nurses lobbied for:

• Increased funding for nurse residency programs and a plan to address the critical nursing shortage.
• Stackable credits for nurses transferring between programs to improve education pathways.
• Workplace safety and other critical issues.

Advocacy is essential to strengthening the nursing profession and improving patient care. We are proud to have nurses that support policies that make a difference.
