Laken Green, PCT, identified that the current seizure pads are incompatible with the new Centrella beds introduced across the system. Thanks to Laken's observation, the system has now ordered the correct pads that are suitable for use with these beds.
The Advance Care Planning (ACP) Council held an event at the Melrose Library on 4-29-25. This event was a collaboration between Carilion Clinic and The Latinas Network.

Thank you to the OPS nurses at Carilion Giles Community Hospital and a special EVS staff member. Today our ED was full when a child returned for an FNE check. They cleaned a special private room for this patient in OPS to help unload the ED and give the patient and family a quiet room to be cared in. These OPS nurses are top-notch and never hesitate to help the ED. We have a wonderful EVS staff here and no matter how busy, stop to assist. Thank you so much! The ED couldn't do without you :)

Christina Lafon noted that although CHG treatments were being performed daily, they often were not conducted within the recommended 24-hour timeframe. This observation led to the discovery that alerts were not being sent to the Epic Brain, an issue that arose after a recent Epic upgrade.
Addressing this problem not only alerted nurses to the correct procedures but also helped identify opportunities to enhance the electronic medical record system, thereby better supporting the efforts of bedside staff.

I wanted to give a shout out to Liz Hughes for the great job she does at Crystal Spring Pharmacy. She is always so helpful. She's helped me when I ran out of a much needed prescription and made sure it got overnighted to me. She is always upbeat and positive when you talk to her and helpful.
She's a great asset to the pharmacy at Crystal Spring!! She is another reason to be Carilion proud!
