Breaking Records at CRMH’s Birthplace!

Submitted by cdnewton on

In the month of July 2026, Labor & Delivery experienced the highest volume of births recorded since 2008 at 358. At the same time, Mother Baby reached a record breaking 1252 admissions and discharges.

These numbers are impressive, but they represent so much more than volume. Behind every birth, admission and discharge was a team working with skill, compassion, flexibility and an unwavering commitment to patient care.

On Friday, five exceptional therapy team members at Carilion Inpatient Rehabilitation assisted a patient and their family with a challenging car transfer and loading of a power wheelchair. These team members voluntarily sacrificed their lunch time to help this family in their time of need. Claire, Nathan, Alayna, Josh, and Troy went above and beyond for a family and patient. We wanted to acknowledge and recognize these amazing therapists and assistants in their commitment to Carilion values. Thank you from Tara, Nancy, and Marissa.
