Janel McDonald, RN on CCU at NRV has been selected as the Daisy award winner for October. JJ was nominated by a family member for taking outstanding care of a patient. JJ shows dedication and provides wonderful care on a daily basis. JJ goes above and beyond to ensure high quality care is delivered every day, and she serves on more committees than any other employees in the hospital. JJ takes on tasks without question and is actively involved in making CCU and CNRV a better place. She is a wonderful asset to the facility.
Jefferson College of Health Sciences would like to recognize and congratulate Admissions Counselor Taylor Watts for receiving the 2017 New Professional Award at the VACRAO (Virginia Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Counselors) annual conference, which took place from December 3-5, 2017 in Blacksburg, VA.
CRMH was recognized among Virginia Living's Top Hospitals 2017 in the magazine's special Hospital and Health Care bound-in supplement in their December issue.
The list recognizes more than 40 Virginia hospitals for excellence and innovation in patient care across nine categories: cancer, cardiology, diabetes, gastroenterology, neurology, orthopaedics, pain management, pediatrics and rehabilitation.

Last week, staff from Carilion's Clinical Advancement and Patient Safety, TSG, and Legal were presented with the Valedictorian Award from Riskonnect, Carilion's SafeWatch Event Reporting software vendor.
Carilion is one of the vendor's only sites who utilize the software to the extend that we do.
Cherie Hall, Safety Systems Manager and Kristen Gorman, Process Improvement Consultant also proudly presented “Bridging the Industries; Tips for Any Industry from a Successful Healthcare Implementation” to the international audience.
Jefferson College of Health Sciences Emergency Services faculty member Dr. Elliot Carhart is one of only six non-physicians nationwide named as a 2017 Fellow of the Academy of Emergency Medical Services (FAEMS).
