VHHA Recognizes The Birthplace at CNRV

"It was important to come to Carilion New River Valley Medical Center (CNRV) from Richmond to deliver this banner," said Abraham Segres, vice president of Quality and Patient Safety for the Virginia Hospital and Healthcare Association. The Birthplace staff and physicians at CNRV were recognized for reducing the number of early elective deliveries which have shown to increase the risk for a baby compared to infants born between 39 and 41 weeks. The criteria for recognition was developed by the March of Dimes and a statewide steering committee. CNRV is one of 26 hospitals recognized for achieving positive results out of 53 hospitals that provide birthing services in the state.
