CRMH received the Partner for Change Award from Practice Greenhealth, the nation’s leading organization dedicated to environmental sustainability in health care. The award is one of the Environmental Excellence Awards given each year to honor environmental achievements in the health care sector.

The Partner for Change Award recognizes health care facilities that continuously improve and expand upon programs to eliminate mercury, reduce and recycle waste, source products sustainably and more. 

Our commitment to our community, colleagues and work environment is being recognized by Becker’s Hospital Review making us one of the “150 Top Places to Work in Healthcare” in 2018. 

We are the only organization in Virginia to make the list!

This list highlights hospitals, health systems and health care companies that promote diversity within the workforce, employee engagement and professional growth.

Congratulations to Patrice M. Weiss, M.D., executive vice president and chief medical officer, for being named one of Becker's Hospital Review's "100 Hospital and Health System CMOs to Know 2018."

The list features national physician leaders dedicated to strengthening their organizations through physician leadership development, patient safety initiatives and quality improvement.

Roanoke County Public Schools Education Foundation has awarded the 2018 Green Apple Award to B.J. Joyce, Emergency Medical Technician instructor at the Burton Center for Arts & Technology and Jefferson College of Health Sciences.

The award recognizes a new teacher who has taught in Roanoke County for three years or less. It is part of the organizations’ annual Golden Apple Awards that recognize outstanding educators in the Roanoke County.

Jefferson College alumni Lieutenant Camille (Moore) Black has been confirmed for promotion to the level of Battalion Chief of Operations by the Botetourt Fire & EMS. Black has served with the department for 12 years. Prior to coming to work for Botetourt County, she began as a volunteer EMT and firefighter with the Troutville Volunteer Fire Department and Rescues Squad. Black has served in the role of Lieutenant-Shift Officer and Paramedic Supervisor for the past eight years.

Work completed during 2017 by our Marketing and Communications team earned a very impressive 12 awards Saturday night at the Western Virginia American Advertising Awards competition, including three of the four “best of” categories:

Congratulations to Karen Chambers, CST, FAST, MHA/Ed, Assistant Professor in the Surgical Technology Program at Jefferson College of Health Sciences, for being named a "Gold Miner" at the annual conference for the Accreditation Review Council on Education in Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (ARC/STSA) in Charleston, South Carolina earlier this month.
