Healthier hospitals mean healthier communities.

CRMH received the Partner for Change Award from Practice Greenhealth, the nation’s leading organization dedicated to environmental sustainability in health care. The award is one of the Environmental Excellence Awards given each year to honor environmental achievements in the health care sector.

The Partner for Change Award recognizes health care facilities that continuously improve and expand upon programs to eliminate mercury, reduce and recycle waste, source products sustainably and more.

Jefferson College EMT Instructor B.J. Joyce Recognized with the Green Apple Award

Roanoke County Public Schools Education Foundation has awarded the 2018 Green Apple Award to B.J. Joyce, Emergency Medical Technician instructor at the Burton Center for Arts & Technology and Jefferson College of Health Sciences.

The award recognizes a new teacher who has taught in Roanoke County for three years or less. It is part of the organizations’ annual Golden Apple Awards that recognize outstanding educators in the Roanoke County.

Jefferson College Alum Camille Moore Black Recognized

Jefferson College alumni Lieutenant Camille (Moore) Black has been confirmed for promotion to the level of Battalion Chief of Operations by the Botetourt Fire & EMS. Black has served with the department for 12 years. Prior to coming to work for Botetourt County, she began as a volunteer EMT and firefighter with the Troutville Volunteer Fire Department and Rescues Squad. Black has served in the role of Lieutenant-Shift Officer and Paramedic Supervisor for the past eight years.

Jefferson College's Karen Chambers Named Top Site Visitor by ARC/STSA

Congratulations to Karen Chambers, CST, FAST, MHA/Ed, Assistant Professor in the Surgical Technology Program at Jefferson College of Health Sciences, for being named a "Gold Miner" at the annual conference for the Accreditation Review Council on Education in Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (ARC/STSA) in Charleston, South Carolina earlier this month.
