On Friday, March 1, 2019, myself and a group of my co-workers at CASB worked until about 9:30 pm.  When we were leaving to go home, Brian Stallions (Security Officer) walked outside with our group and escorted us to our vehicles.  I was the last one in our group to arrive at my vehicle, as I was parked on the 4th floor of the Church Ave parking garage.  Brian was kind enough to escort me all the way to my vehicle and waited until I had started my car and began driving off before he returned to his duties.  It is nice to work in an area where our Security Officers genuine

On February 27th, Robin Williamson (CRMH 3rd shift chaplain) passed her chaplaincy boards and is now a Board Certified Chaplain.  Board certification as a chaplain is a process and may take candidates several years to complete.  To  be board certified a chaplain must have completed 72 graduate theological hours, complete 4 units of clinical pastoral education, serve one year as a full-time chaplain, and meet 31 professional competencies.  In addition to this significant professional accomplishment for Robin, it completes a departmental goal.  Now every full-ti

On March 5, the CCPT Communications Center received a report of an ambulance versus tractor trailer collision in the area. Details from the scene were not yet available and Life-Guard was activated. The Communications Specialists, without hesitation, quickly formulated a plan to escalate the issue and reach out to all of CCPT's on-duty ground crews to determine if any were involved in the collision and if so, ensure that the proper assets were deployed to assist. In less than four minutes, almost 30 crews were contacted and found to be safe and accounted for.

Thanks so much to  Elizabeth Baker for her assistance at the Jefferson Screening Mammography Center .  When a patient needed medical assistance she did not hesitate to jump in and offer her nursing skills.   All the staff at the Center appreciated her expertise in handling the situation and taking care of the patient until the Carilion EMT team arrived .  Thank you so much for your dedication !

A big THANK YOU to Brandon Haymaker, a Scribe in the ED at CFMH! CFMH has made changes in collecting hand hygiene observations and Brandon has been instrumental  in developing a new reporting spreadsheet for the data collection and reporting process. Brandon has a passion for technology and will soon be leaving CFMH and heading to Carilion TSG department. Thank you Brandon for going above and beyond.

The Ancillary Council would like to send a shout out to Alice Gregory for being the first ever winner of the Bee award! Alice was chosen for her dedication to a patient and her family even though they were no longer on her unit. She even came to the hospital when her shift was over to continue helping them.
