COVID fit testing

Thank you Chris Monk for working diligently and timely to ensure all staff and providers had ample fit testing service.  Various respirators (N95's) drove the need for additional testing of employees in a time of which fit testing solutions were extremely difficult to obtain.  Chris streamlined our process, monitored supplies, partnered with Employee Health, Infection Prevention, Pharmacy, the Staffing Command Center, and Material Management to get the job done!  In addition, she developed a process to enter over 800 fit testing documents into the EH database.  Than

We at Carilion Franklin Memorial Hospital received this sweet card from Sakorah this morning. I am not sure who Sakorah is but I feel that she represents the entire community of Franklin County and our neighboring counties. We have received so much support from everyone around us. It is good to have this feeling. Sakorah reminds us all of why we are here and why we do what we do. We "take care of everyone...."

Thank you Sakorah and thank you CFMH for all that you do. You make me proud.....Just be kind. Carl

Beth Bond - In Memoriam

Submitted by sesayre on

On March 23, 2020 Beth Bond, RN, BSN, CNOR, CSSM passed away while at work from a very sudden event.  She served tirelessly for over 20 years in Cardiac Surgery where she served as Director and recently also became the Director over Vascular Surgery and the Hybrid Operating Room.  Beth's passing has left a void that is not able to be filled; made only worse by the inability to collectively mourn her loss.  Her team and family are left to quietly grieve in the silence and loneliness of these days comforted only through the words and tears of those who loved h

Thanks to Allyson Conway, Lisa Mauk and Amanda Trent (plus their teams) for all of their hard work and commitment during the COVID-19 event. Changes had to be made quickly and communicated to new hires related to our System Orientation process. Without their hard work, we would not have been able to make it happen!
