Be Prepared for the Time Change Nov. 3

Daylight saving time begins in the spring, when you set your clocks ahead one hour. It ends in the fall, when you set your clocks back one hour to standard time. Daylight time begins on the second Sunday of March each year and ends on the first Sunday of November.

About This Weekend's Time Change

• The time change will take place Sunday, Nov. 3 after 1:59 a.m.
• After 1:59 a.m., the time falls back one hour, which ends daylight time (DST) and begins standard time (ST).
• The 1 - 2 a.m. hour is repeated. All the times between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m. will occur twice.
• If you use Epic, the time change may impact your work.

Which Epic Users Will Be Affected?

• All Epic clinical users working in the system during the time change.  
• OR and ED users (time adjusters) working D-shift on Monday, Nov. 4, 2024.  
• EPIC ADT (Registration/Patient Access) users.

What You Need To Do

• If you use Epic, read the Fall 2024 Daylight Savings Time job aid below and make sure you understand how the time change will affect your work in Epic.
