Jamie Lint: An Advocate for Special Needs Children and their Families

Jamie Lint has been a member of the SOFT (Support Organization for Trisomy) for about 20 years. SOFT inspires hope and respects all on their Trisomy journey. SOFT empowers families, celebrates hope, values research, builds community, and values respect. SOFT started in 1979 in Salt Lake City, Utah through the magical meeting of two young mothers, both with 2-year-old daughters born with trisomy 18. The experience was so profound, Kris Holladay and Pam Watson made a promise to create a way for other families to find one another and share their stories and offer support. One such family was Jamie and Kristie Lint, after the birth of their son Zion in 2001.  This past year, Jamie successfully coordinated and hosted an International Education and Support Conference for children and families with rare and life limiting chromosomal abnormalities in Roanoke, Virginia. Jamie collaborated with physicians from across the country to provide free clinics for the families affected. Jamie is passionate in this area, and this is a wonderful resource to these families. 

Jamie worked in the ED at CRMH for many years, and now works for Carilion Home Care in Tazewell.
