Above and Beyond

While rounding as a vaccinator at CNRVMC, I encountered Roger Carroll with housekeeping in the main hallway. Roger was a prime example of an employee displaying all of the characteristics of our Carilion Values. He was kind and courteous, ensuring I could access the area that was needed, was courteous with yes mam and no mam, and even while wearing a mask, it was evident that Roger was wearing a smile. Often as an unfamiliar face, we are not treated with such kindness, and it was so refreshing to interact with Roger  that I requested his name, to ensure that he was recognized for being a true steward of the Carilion values. I am PROUD to say I work with someone such as Roger, who offered a smile and a kind hello to a stranger. He definitely is a light for Carilion as well as his department. Thank you Roger, for making a difference in my day and an impact on my time at Carilion New River Valley.
