CTCH Patient Safety in Mobile MRI

On October the 7th, a collaboration of about 20 staff members conducted a Mock Code Blue on the Mobile MRI unit at Carilion Tazewell Community Hospital.  This event took place after judicious planning and forethought by all.  An initial Mock Code Blue was ran several weeks before and evaluated for opportunities for improvement.  Changes were made to the policy and education was provided hospital wide on the magnet safety and proper response to an emergency on the Mobile MRI unit.  The re-run of the Mock Code Blue done was a huge success!  We also were able to have leadership that was not on site to join us remotely by teams meeting.  What an amazing display of teamwork across the system.  Thanks to all who participated to help develop better processes to keep our patients and staff safe!  GREAT TEAMWORK!
