CFMH's Sherry Banks, CA, Helps Out a Family That Ran out of Gas While Waiting to be seen in the ED
A family member came in with a small infant inquiring about patient’s wait time due to car running out of gas in the parking lot. Sherry noticed the infant did not have on warm clothes and only small blanket with feet out. She spoke to the family member and found out their vehicle had run out of gas while they had been waiting in the parking lot and they had no way to go get any. Sherry searched high and low and checked with all staff in the hospital for a gas jug to go get them gas and was not able to find one. She reached out to her husband who then went and bought a gas jug and brought gas here for the vehicle. But they didn’t stop there. They then provided a full tank of gas from a store for this family. This goes above and beyond and shows absolute compassion! Sherry stated “You never know what someone is going through.” She is amazing!”
