IPC Spotlight of the Month
“I’ve enjoyed having the opportunity to move the needle on important quality improvement metrics in my role as an Infection Preventionist. I find this role satisfying as my impact ranges from direct patient care on clinical units with medical device rounding all the way to validating that the environment of care is clean and suitable for our patients. I’m extremely grateful for the collaboration I have found in working with various departments from EVS, the ED, and beyond.” – Nick Koncar, IP
Nick joined Carilion Clinic in August 2020 as an Infection Preventionist. His prior experiences include having worked on a medical/surgical unit as a nurse for 5 years and having earned a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Tennessee in May 2020. Nick is the Infection Control Co-chair for the CLABSI Charter Committee and collaborates closely with EVS and the ED in addition to the inpatient units he oversees.
The IPC department is delighted to celebrate Nick!
