Birthday Wishes

We have a patient on 7W who has been with us for a few days.  During his hospitalization, his wife was admitted to an ICU for a while before downgrading to a PCU here at CRMH.  Lexie Basiliere, RN and her RN orientee, Alyssa Craig, decided to see if their patient could visit his wife because not only was she in the hospital, but it was also her birthday.  Lexie made a few calls to arrange the visit with the other PCU and their patient’s physician.  After their shift was over, Lexie and Alyssa stayed behind to take their patient on a little trip to another PCU.  They stayed with their patient while he visited his wife and told her “Happy Birthday, Love!”  It was such a sweet moment for the elderly couple and equally as rewarding for Lexie and Alyssa.  This nurse duo is always going the extra mile to provide exceptional and compassionate care to their patients.  Thank you for living the Carilion Values and being awesome nurses!
