Dr. Philpott with the Great Catch Award! Two deliveries in one day!

CFMH suspended Obstetric services in 2011.  Since then, the ED may have one delivery per calendar year.  But on April 16th, 2021, we doubled up our yearly deliveries in one day!  (And it wasn't twins!)  Three days post education provided by the Perinatal Outreach team, Dr. Philpott and his team went through the motions to begin and to end their twelve hour shift.  Dr. Philpott's calm and focus demeanor guided his team through both deliveries very well.  The primary ED nurses for both deliveries, Julie Barbour and Katie Kirby, received hands and assistance from lots of places - OR team: Edythe Hooper, Whitney Ashley (1st delivery), Crystal Kiser (2nd delivery); ICU team: Lewellen Byrd; HR Education: Betty Walker and Pharmacist: Lori McClure.

Each of these individuals showed such dedication and teamwork!  Thank you all for a job well done!  

On Saturday, April 24th, Dr. Philpott was presented with his award.  One he wishes to never be the recipient  again!
