Helping a Family in Need
This time of year it is normal for us to get hikers from the Appalachain Trail with various injuries and illnesses. Yesterday we had a man come in with an injury to his leg that we found needed to be treated at the emergency room. He was hiking with his niece and a friend who had just graduated and his first concern was for them and their safety. Lisa Booth one of our clinical assistants knew how to help. She called guest services and arranged for the patient and the two girls to get a hotel room. Once he made the reservation she called back to guest services and gave them the information and vouchers were issued for the rooms. She made sure that they were all as comfortable as possible while awaiting transportation. The patient and the teens were very grateful for the help she gave them.
