Teamwork and Collaboration on Neuro Trauma PCU

We had a very busy weekend with our recent snowfall event and despite the challenges of staffing, mixed with patient acuity, staff felt like they came out ahead. I sent all of those that worked this weekend a thank you for hanging in there and pulling together. The following is what they sent back not only to me but to each other:

“I couldn’t have asked for better teammates. Everyone pulled together and thought of others first.”

“ Thank you to everyone, the best team out there.”

“I don’t think I could survive most weekends without our group helping each other.’

“I love my co-workers, I love my job, it’s tough and ugly sometimes but at the end of the day, I work with some of the best people I’ve ever met. We’ll always figure it out. “

“We have an amazing team right now! This weekend was really tough, but everybody pulled together  and through it. “

As a leader, it’s great to hear how appreciative the staff are of each other in times when everything seems to be falling apart.

A special thank you to Jeff Duncan, RN, CTL, NTPCU, he picked up a staff member for NTICU and brought her in when she couldn’t make it due to the storm. We would also like to thank Nate Hairfield Clinical Administrator. When our NA was pulled to sit leaving us without, he came up and assisted with getting patient vital signs on our patients along with helping the staff get caught up. All of us on 9 MTN PCU are especially thankful for the collaboration and teamwork that brings us through tough times.
