Covid Vaccine Team Work at CFMH
I wanted to share my pride in our leadership team here at Carilion Franklin Memorial Hospital. When we received word that the COVID vaccines were on their way, the leadership team here went to work establishing clinics, workflows, assignments and everything needed to make giving the vaccines a smooth process. Not only were there internal groups to take care of...there were external groups as well which required excellent collaboration. There was work to be done with our local health dept and our local EMS crews.
Robin Wunderlich, our Clinical Effectiveness Manager, planned, scheduled and assigned all events, internal and external. Our Employee Health/Infection Control Practitioner (Melissa Crigger) not only provided her time and energy to the Vaccine Clinics but continued to plan, schedule and carry out her many other Employee Health and Infection Control duties as well without skipping a beat. Jessica Fichtner, our Patient Safety RN has filled in for Employee Health duties during this time. Our Community Health RN, Betty Robertson has been extremely busy with COVID testing and Vaccines. Betty Walker, our Nurse Educator stepped up to help provide vaccines.
Our entire pharmacy team led by Lori McClure made the entire vaccine clinic process extremely smooth. We could not have a successful vaccine clinic process without Lori and her pharmacy team.
Tracy McCown, Tiffany Allen, Amanda Robertson, and many others have been extremely helpful in "staffing" the clinics.
Lastly, I would like to thank Bill Wilson for his help in arranging for a vaccine clinic in Martinsville. Excellent collaboration all the way around.
I am sure I have missed names and for that I am sorry. The entire leadership team here at CFMH is simply the best. I am honored to be a part of you and I am very honored to work for you. Thank you for your hard work and for making our Vaccine Clinic so successful.
