Congratulations - Region VI Business Partnership Award

On October 22, 2020, Carilion Clinic's Education & Organizational Development Department was recognized by Roanoke County Public Schools & the Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Education for its collaboration efforts with RCPS. Carilion Clinic was nominated by RCPS and selected as the Region 6 winner of the 2020 Creating Excellence Business Partnership Award. The creating excellence awards are presented annually to recognize exemplary programs and partnerships that promote excellence in career and technical education. With the increasing demand for healthcare workers, Carilion Clinic is working with RCPS to start an Intro. to Nursing Careers/Nursing Assistant training program. Carilion committed to a multi-year agreement with RCPS to provide a nursing instructor and staff to assist with clinical experiences and donated equipment to establish a nurse training lab. The recognition shows the commitment Carilion provides in partnering with stakeholders to help prospective employees (in this case, RCPS students) explore career options in healthcare.
