Mother Baby (12 South) Compassion

I would like to commend Lisa Dooley RN  LC,  Catherine Dinardo RN, and other Mother Baby staff that worked on 9/13/2020 for a wonderful thing they did for a patient.     We had a patient who had preexisting conditions prior to the birth of her baby.  She was going to have more surgeries and treatments after discharge, as well as her infant going to NICU unexpectedly.     We found out that it was her Birthday.   Lisa went to the cafeteria and bought her a cake, and Catherine got a Birthday card - having Mother Baby, Labor and Delivery, and NICU sign it.    When the patient returned from a visit to NICU, they sung Happy Birthday to her.        I was very touched by their compassion and thoughtfulness.   They made this patient's birthday a little more special.
