Dedication to Patient Care -- Dr. Robert Salters

Dr. Robert Salters in the Emergency Department deserves an overwhelming thank you from the 3rd shift team in CT for going above and beyond for a patient in need! This patient was in desperate need of a CT to help determine their treatment plan and the patient claimed to have been a "hard stick"--the IV that had been placed upon arrival was unfortunately not appropriate for the CT exam. Dr. Salters not only made sure the patient received a new, pressure-rated and CT-appropriate IV immediately, but dressed out in gown, goggles, N95 (...you name it!) to bring the patient over to the CT scanner himself. Once the exam was complete, he explained to the patient what the next course of action would be and reassured them that she would be taken care of. He even took the patient back to their room and thanked us for our assistance. Without his dedication to patient care and outcomes, the scan wait time would have been further prolonged. This is only one example of Dr. Salters' continuous efforts to ensure our patients receive the best care possible and we cannot say thank you enough.
