Strokes/Door to Puncture time (DTP) team winners-Dec and Jan

TIME is BRAIN!  The longer you wait to treat a stroke the more damage is done. Compared with the normal rate of neuro loss in brain aging, the ischemic stroke brain ages 3.6 yrs each hour/1.9 million brain cells die every minute without treatment. 

CMC is a Primary Stroke center with Thrombectomy capabilities.  Thrombectomy is a non-surgical treatment for the sudden loss of brain function due to blood clots. (Performed in Interventional Radiology)   The goal is 90 minutes from the time the emergent stroke patient enters our door to the time the Interventional Neuro Radiologist or Neurosurgeon makes a puncture in the skin to start the procedure.
