Knowledgeable nurse advocates for coworker to seek care in the ED

Sharon Burkholder, PACU charge nurse was planning the night with her staff of 3 total nurses. One of the nurses had mentioned symptoms she had been experiencing over the past couple of days and spoke of "just being exhausted". As we all know, many nurses experience exhaustion, but Sharon continued to ask probing questions, as a former Cardiac ICU Nurse Sharon was able to recognize this change in the coworkers condition as a possible cardiac issue. When Sharon decided to check the nurses pulse she realized this was an emergent situation and immediately sent her to the ED to seek treatment for symptomatic SVT's.

I would like to recognize Sharon Burkholder on the WOW Wall for showing compassion and concern and not giving second thought to the impact to the evening staffing implications; for advocating for her coworker's healthcare, making sure she got the treatment she needed in a timely manner!
