The July Bee Award Winner is...

The July Bee Award winner is Resource Pool POA Jamie Wray!  Below is the nomination that was submitted that earned Jamie her award.  Congratulations and thank you for your hard work Jamie!

"Jamie is an exceptional patient observation assistant that goes above and beyond for her patients.  On (this day), she was assigned to work as a POA in the ED with a challenging confused one to one.  This patient was brought in for increased confusion.  In addition, this patient was known to have terminal cancer.  The patient's confusion caused him to ask the same questions over and over.  Staff in the emergency room and the patient's family were getting irritated with the patient.  Jamie identified the need to provide a calming environment for the patient.  She took time to listen to the patient, responding in a calming tone.  She found out the patient's interest and created a plan of care within her scope of practice.  In order to help the patient, Jamie decreased the patient's stimulation by turning down the lights.  She played the patient's favorite music on her phone. (The ED doesn't have this feature on their TV), and used the patient's essential oils as requested by the family.  Instantly the patient started singing songs and was less anxious and confusion decreased.  The wife came to visit and mentioned how impressed she was by Jamie's skill in calming her husband.  Her patience and ability to meet her patient's needs created a positive patient and family experience.  She was a blessing during an extremely stressful time of the patient's life.  Jamie needs to be recognized for her compassionate care and giving heart."
