Growth and Change

You may have already heard the news.. Amanda Kidd has accepted a CNO position in Oklahoma City, OK.  This position will give her an opportunity to advance her career. She will leave us September 9th for her endeavor on September 23rd.  Carilion would like to thank you and extend appreciation wishes as you bid farewell.  You have been a treasured employee of the company for 15 years.  Thank you for bringing your best to work every single day.

Below are some of her accomplishments in her Carilion career:

• Revitalization of Shared Governance in collaboration with other leaders in Carilion, including provision of education to approximately 1500 nurses.
• Worked with CCU to achieve Silver Beacon designation and a trusted resource by many across the system.
• With the support of interim CNO Paul Davenport, activated digital monitors in the CCU to drive intrinsic accountability and now speak nationally on intrinsic accountability.
• Worked closely with a team to design the original Bedside Handoff policy and “WE CARE” mnemonic.
• Introduced Cipher Orchid rounding technology to Carilion post Nursing Management Congress conference attendance and worked closely with leaders to co-design rounding template. 
• Collaborated with a great team to deploy Nurse Leader Patient Rounding Simulations.
• Awards:  2019 ANCC Certified Nurse Award for Nurse Executive Advanced, 2019 Wilson Shepard Nurse Leadership Excellence Award, 2017 Cipher National Inspiring Nurse Leader, 2017 Virginia Nursing Foundation Leadership Excellence Award Honorable Mention and 2015 Virginia 40 Under 40 Award winner.
• Assisted with Week of the Nurse activities, dancing every day for one year! ..Keep dancing Amanda, keep dancing ?
