CFMH Operating Room Goes Kid Friendly

     With the Operating Room pediatrics population increasing the staff of the OR soon realized that they needed to incorporate a kid friendly space in the Outpatient Department. Three of the nurses Whitney Ashley, Heather Hopkins, and Brittany Lessard jumped in to take the lead on the project with help and input from the whole department. Everyone voted on different design aspects and it came together perfectly. The theme of the room is an Ocean Adventure with things like a treasure chest for the kids to pick a prize. We have tropical fish, sea turtles and jellyfish throughout the room. This also included coverings for the lights with tropical fish designs. This gives the area a nice calming atmosphere which contrasts with most bright and stark white hospital areas. Away from the ocean theme the kids now have a car that they can ride to the operating room to alleviate some of that fear. So, I just want to say to the whole Operating Room team job well done.
