Neurology Department starts Epilepsy Support Group

Submitted by stbekri on

Carilion Neurology has started an epilepsy support group!

The goal of the group is to provide a safe and comfortable environment in which caregivers and patients with epilepsy can discuss this condition. Our goal is to have education quarterly based on the needs and feedback of the group. They will receive education from different medical professionals in effort to help these individuals better understand this condition and improve effective coping.

This group will also provide a platform to network for these individuals. There is a strong correlation between anxiety, depression, and epilepsy. This can be helpful for newly diagnosed people as well.

Meetings will be held at Riverside 3, room 2A, from 5:30pm-6:30pm. The following dates have been confirmed: May 13, June 10, July 8, and August 12.

Please RSVP at (540) 224-5170, attn. Sarah Carrigan, NP.
