Cop with Compassion

  Carilion PD Sergeant Mark Gilbert, his daughter Katie and the jolly old elf himself, Santa, teamed up to spread some Christmas cheer to the patients on the Peds Unit on Christmas Eve.  Sergeant Gilbert manages a non-profit organization in Martinsville called Cops, Kids and Clothes.  This year, he and his organization teamed up with Peds to make sure that the patients had something to celebrate the holiday with besides twinkling lights from the IV machines.  He and his elves passed out toys, gifts and even hand-made blankets spreading Christmas cheer.  The Peds staff even got gift cards to thank them for their service to others.  In the world of "Wows!" this one really "rocks around the Christmas tree!"
