CFMH's ED staff Stitch Up An "Unusual" Patient!

A patient was here in October for a Mental Health Evaluation, and carried a stuffed monkey named "George" that was a "security item" for her. This stuffed monkey had safety pins in one of the legs to keep it attached. The patient was advised that the pins were a hazard and would need to be removed.  At hearing this, she became very upset that it had to be removed from the room.  Jonathan was her primary nurse and advised the patient that we would come up with a solution to fix the leg.  Jonathan St. Julien, Bryan Fichtner and Cheryl Guilliams sewed the leg back onto the monkey and returned the monkey to her.  It was noted the patient was much calmer while being able to hold her George! Even a visitor nearby commented, "The things you guys do for your patients!" Jonathan came up with a great solution to ease the patients anxiety, and with the help of his co-workers, made this idea come into fruition.  A big THANK YOU to such caring individuals and representing our 5 C's with such grace and class!"
