Compassion When It Mattered Most

Often, the moments patients remember most are the acts of kindness that make them feel seen, supported, and safe.

Following a medical emergency, a patient shared heartfelt gratitude for the exceptional care she received from our CRMH Emergency Department, Cath Lab, and 9CST ICU teams. While every caregiver played an important role in her experience, one act of compassion stood out. 

As the patient was being treated, Emergency Department Clinical Associate Isabelle Werle stayed with the patient's 13-year-old daughter for nearly two hours until her father arrived. Knowing her daughter was safe allowed the patient to focus on her own medical emergency during one of the most frightening moments of her life.

The patient also recognized 9CST ICU nurses Megan Rosenbloom and Chad Cox for their compassion, professionalism, reassurance, and attentiveness, sharing: "They treated me not just as a patient, but as a person, and their kindness had a lasting impact on both me and my family."
