Thank you to Dr. Wattsman, Dr. Schwamb, and Pediatric surgery team

Last week, my 4-year-old son had outpatient surgery for a hernia repair. I wanted to thank Dr. Wattsman for her professional and thorough bedside manner; she addressed all questions that we had, including my sons' many questions. I also wanted to thank Dr. Schwamb for bringing much-needed levity; my son was very anxious about the procedure but was able to relax after Dr. Schwamb joked with him and also encouraged us to cue up a movie for my son to watch as the anesthesia was given. What can understandably seem like a very nervous/anxiety-inducing time for any parent, actually turned into a great display of teamwork, empathy and pragmatism by all staff; doctors, residents, nurses (pre and post-op), intake staff, etc. This was very impressive to see in motion and made my wife and I both feel at ease. My son is recovering well, and we are all thankful for the surgical team's diligence and compassion.
