4th Annual Cuts with Cops

On Saturday, August 1, Carilion Children's proudly hosted the 4th Annual Cuts with Cops at our Tanglewood location. Together with our community partners, we helped children prepare for the new school year by providing school supplies, new shoes and socks, fresh haircuts, and other essential resources—ensuring they start the school year prepared, confident, and ready to succeed.

Cuts with Cops is a powerful example of what can be accomplished when healthcare, public safety, local businesses, and community organizations come together with a shared purpose. Through this collaboration, we are investing not only in children's academic success, but also in their confidence, well-being, and our community.

A special thank you to our Carilion Children's planning team—Patrick Randolph, Donna Deadrick, Macy Ware, Heather Kissner, and Carli Holtzhauer—for coordinating the school supply drive and leading event logistics in partnership with our community collaborators.

We are also deeply grateful to Children's Miracle Network, Roanoke County Police Department and Officer Forehand, Roanoke County Sheriff's Office, Fleet Feet, Grand Home Furnishings, Virginia Department of Health, Mission BBQ, Kiwanis Club, Lions Club, Skechers, YMCA, Kroger, Walmart, hair dressers Great Clips, Mama D's, Mane Theory Lab, and the many volunteers whose generosity and dedication made this event possible.

Together, we helped hundreds of local children walk into the new school year prepared, confident, and supported.
