More Good Days, Together!
Throughout May, as we celebrate Carilion Proud’s theme “Care That Connects Us,” we pause to recognize that caring for our own mental health is essential to the care we provide for others. Mental well-being strengthens our ability to connect, support one another, and show up fully—at work and at home.
May is Mental Health Month, and in honor of this year’s theme, “More Good Days, Together,” you’re invited to connect with Wellness at Work for a series of 30-minute webinars held on Tuesdays at noon. These sessions are designed to build practical skills, foster connection, and support everyday mental well-being. Topics include Stress First Aid, The Power of Friendship, and The Benefits of Social Leisure.
The series concludes on May 26 with a special presentation from the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, Talk Saves Lives. This important session explores the scope of suicide, risk and protective factors, warning signs, and what to do when someone may be at risk.
This flyer has more details, the complete schedule, and a QR code to register. Recordings of the webinars will be available on the Wellness hub.
Personify Health Challenge
Mental Health Month invites us to take simple actions that support connection. On Monday, May 11 – Sunday, May 17 challenge yourself to talk more and scroll less by participating in the Personify Health Device-Free Zone Challenge, creating space for meaningful conversations and moments of presence. Join the challenge!
Be Seen in Green!
Green is the international symbol of mental health awareness, reminding us that there is no health without mental health. While 1 in 5 people experience a mental health condition each year, 5 in 5 of us manage our mental health every day. On Thursday, May 21, wear green to show support, spark conversation, and help reduce stigma. Consider submitting team photos to the Wow Wall to celebrate participation.
