Supporting Our Community

Members of the Community Health and Development team collaborated to provide education on heart-supportive diets and blood pressure management at Melrose Plaza on April 4th during the Power of H.E.R. event hosted by the Delta Theta Sigma Roanoke Alumnae Chapter. The shared table also highlighted contributions from the Keeley Healing Arts Program and featured the Sankofa bird--an example of a collaborative community art project building on a theme displayed throughout Melrose Plaza (the Sankofa bird). The piece was created by community members and assembled by an Artist in Residence, reflecting the intersection of health, art, and community engagement.
