Dr. Lana Wahid - Physician Recognition Award - March 2026

Dr. Wahid has been working very closely with colleagues outside of the Dept of Medicine in recent months, including Dr. D Kuehl (EM), Dr. Witcher (Neurosurgery), Dr. Armbruster (Gyn Oncology) to support them in our collective efforts to improve research infrastructure at Carilion. A courageous endeavor for a relatively new hire. Along the way she has met with senior leaders, including Drs. Seupaul, Friedlander, and R. Trestman to make this better. She has collaborated with all chiefs in the department of Medicine and has created a research unit that has already been productive, including a recent paper in the NEJM AI journal.
