Epic’s SlicerDicer: Explore Data Like Never Before
We're expanding access to SlicerDicer, Epic's self-service reporting tool, to help our teams use data to improve patient care and operational workflows.
What is SlicerDicer?
SlicerDicer is a self-service data exploration tool within Epic that allows teams to analyze clinical, operational, and financial data in real time, without needing custom report builds.
You can quickly explore trends, track data, and drill down into details to answer questions, identify trends, and make improvements.
Who can use SlicerDicer?
All Epic users can access SlicerDicer. It will be most useful to physicians, advanced practice providers, leaders, researchers, auditors, quality analysts and revenue cycle teams.
What's available in SlicerDicer?
Our Health Analytics team has created a growing library of data models to support decision-making across ambulatory, inpatient, and financial operations. These include:
- Referrals
- Denials
- Medication administrations
- Visits and encounters
- Hospital admissions
- Immunizations
- Surgeries and invasive procedures
- …and many more
Our library is growing, and we will add more data models over time.

Multiple learning and support options are available to help teams get started and build expertise.

To access the courses, visit Workday Learning and type SlicerDicer in the search bar.
