Dr. Lareau and CFMH Food Pantry

Dr. Stephanie Lareau, our emergency department lead and Medical Staff President,  reached out to me last week for my support in putting together a “food bank” sort of program for CFMH. She was very concerned for our community and the need for families to have food in light of the possible discontinuation of SNAP benefits. 

Dr. Lareau came up with a plan and a friendly competition between all departments at CFMH. As a result, she enlisted participation from our local EMS, our hospital providers and the entire hospital. 500lbs of food was collected and we now have a pantry of food that is bagged and given to families in need who come into our hospital. We also provide a list of community resources and other area food banks. 

Dr. Lareau's commitment and concern for our community was exemplified by her actions and the way that she pulled our hospital together to bring this project to fruition. We are a better hospital because of her. Thank you Dr. Lareau for always being you.
