It’s that time of year again—Infection Prevention Week is here! Teams across the region are stepping up, suiting up, and showing off their creativity in this year’s IPC Regional Competition. From mascots to PPE flair, our departments are proving that infection prevention can be both fun and impactful!

Over in Giles, the MOB Barrier Queens are all neon when it comes to clean hands and caring hearts, lighting the way in hand hygiene excellence. Right next door, the Giles Pharmacy Team, known as the Sterile Compounders, aren’t horsing around when it comes to infection prevention—they’re mixing up serious spirit with serious safety! Can you guess which dept chose the name Scrubbing Bubbles? Well it's Med/Surg & SCU of course. While Imaging is Radiating Rhinovirus!

Down in Franklin, creativity is on fire. Dining Services cooked up the team name Fiery Skillets, while Care Services debuted a clever mascot for their PPE delivery team — the Home Care Germinators! Meanwhile, the Franklin Surgical Team has transformed into the Surgical Circus, dazzling everyone with their amazing PPE flair entries that are sure to earn applause.

Not to be outdone, Tazewell and New River are still rallying their teams — there’s still time to join the race! Which department will climb to the top of the leaderboard with Monday’s first update?

👀 Keep your eyes peeled over the weekend… rumor has it the Germ Scavenger Hunt may already be underway. Hidden germs mean hidden points — so get searching!
