Compassion
Rachel Ward is an HAA in the OB GYN float pool and she noticed a patient in the waiting room who seemed really stressed. Rachel went over to talk to the patient to see if she could help her with anything as she seemed a little worried and stressed. The patient opened up and explained that she had an appointment and lived over 2 hours away. She stated that the transportation that she had was cancelled and did not know how she was going to get home. Rachel reached out to help her find some transportation and while waiting on the transportation to arrive, Rachel learned that the patient had not eaten all day and noticed that she did not have shoes on her feet. Rachel gave the patient her lunch and gave her the shoes she had on. Rachel has always put the patients first and she felt that she needed to help this patient as much as she could.
