Congratulations to Dr. Bonnie Hennig-Trestman on Another Gold Medal Victory!

Dr. Bonnie Hennig-Trestman, director of Carilion’s Huntington’s Disease Program, has once again demonstrated her elite fencing skills by earning a gold medal at the April 2025 North American Cup Fencing Tournament in Los Angeles, California.

This victory follows her gold medal win at the 2025 North American Cup Fencing Championship in Kansas City this past January. A repeat member of the USA Veterans World Fencing Team, Dr. Hennig-Trestman now holds the top national ranking in her category. Her back-to-back wins have secured her a place on the 2025 World Veteran Fencing Championship team.

She will proudly represent the United States for the fifth time at the international competition in Bahrain this fall.
