GOING THE EXTRA MILE

We have a very compassionate co-worker here at Carilion Clinic Parkway Blue Ridge.  Her name is Gloria Widener MA-C, who went out of her way on her time off to make sure a patient received her medication.  The patient had been a victim of identity theft and did not have a cent to her name thus could not afford the antibiotic she needed.  Gloria went to the pharmacy, paid for the medication and traveled to the other side of Roanoke (from where she lived) and delivered it to her home. As the patient did not even have her own transportation.  Gloria is very compassionate about her job and often goes above and beyond her job duties for our patients.  We thank her for her kind heart and is a pleasure and roll model to work with.
