CFMH Gives back to the Community while fulfilling a need

Submitted by txmccown on

When we recently found out that we were receiving new beds at Franklin Memorial, discussions immediately turned into what we were going to do with the old beds. That very week, one of our Unit Directors, Amanda Robertson, shared with me a "Go Fund Me" post from Red Oak Manor, an assisted living facility here in Franklin County.  The "Go Fund Me" post was raising money for new beds for their residents. We couldn't believe it. It seemed like that post came to us to tell us what to do with the beds.

After reaching out to the design group, I received approval to donate the beds. I then reached out to Dr. Remedy Iguaran, owner of Red Oak Manor. She was so excited about the offer. She immediately said she would love to have them. We took measurements, and I sent pictures and she could not express her appreciation enough.

Today, our new beds arrived and we had the opportunity to visit Red Oak Manor and deliver the beds we were donating. It was the best feeling ever to be able to fulfill a need and see the appreciation from Remedy and her staff. We took the time to educate the staff on the beds and share functions of the bed that would help keep their residents safe while also helping protect the staff from work related injuries.

We delivered 16 beds to Red Oak Manor today and I have to also give a huge shout out to Leonard Dishner and his team for being able to deliver the beds to Red Oak; Amanda Robertson for joining me at Red Oak Manor to move beds in and help provide education to their staff; and also our Amazing Maintenance Crew here at CFMH. They helped to perform a very efficient bed exchange and keep our process rolling.

Feeling blessed to work for an organization that lives its Values.
