PICU Celebrates 5-Year Milestones!

The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit has lots to celebrate lately! Hospital acquired infections are the primary cause of preventable death among hospitalized patients.  The PICU team has followed best practices with such consistency that they have reached not one, but two milestones that once were thought to be impossible.

As of October, they are celebrating ZERO Central Line Associated Bloodstream Infections (CLABSI) for FIVE years! 

As of November, they are celebrating ZERO Catheter Associated Urinary Tract Infections (CAUTI) for FIVE years!
