Join us to celebrate Macon Hogan, NP, Adolescent Medicine, the outpatient/ambulatory department’s first Sunshine Award winner!

Submitted by crwilliams2 on

The Sunshine Award was created by the outpatient/ambulatory department to recognize providers who exhibit extraordinary compassion in patient care. Our first Sunshine Award winner is Macon Hogan, NP, Adolescent Medicine!

She was nominated three times by two patients and a coworker! Her coworker shared that she consistently goes the extra mile for her patients and co-workers. “I see our patients become healthier, happier, and more whole after receiving her care. She does not rush them; she is upfront with them, and they respect her for it. She truly cares for her patients."

Her exceptional skills and dedication are seen in the nominations from her patients:

"When I came to Macon, she let me share my experiences about my weight journey with her listening and showing that she cared. She helped me with treatment and has made my life so much better. I'm so, so thankful for her!”

"My daughter has been struggling for a long time with Ehlers Danlos Syndrome and Macon is very knowledgeable about EDS. She helped my daughter get accommodations at school and prescribed medications for her joint and body pain that has helped her tremendously. My daughter is finally not in pain everyday thanks to Macon. We are both so grateful for her and couldn't thank her enough."

We appreciate her commitment to our patients and our Carilion values. Congrats, Macon!
